Blessing Box – All non-perishable foods are welcome along with hygiene items. Some ideas: Cereal, shelf stable milk, canned vegetables, macaroni and cheese, canned meats like tuna or chicken, laundry detergent, soaps, toilet paper (individual wrapped rolls or 4 packs), paper towels (individual wrapped rolls), dish soap and the like. Please just put a marker line through the UPC symbol to help see that the folks that need the items get them.
Care Bears – a small group of folks that meet to pray for our house bound and nursing home folks. They also visit, send cards and make phone calls to check in on them. This group meets the first Wednesday morning of the month at 9AM.
Card Ministry – This is a group of folks that get notified when someone is in the hospital or sick and send cards. Contact Pat Lorenzo if you would like to send cards. (724-962-2626)
West Hills Cookie Ministry – Drop cookies off at the church the second Monday of the month between 9-2 throughout the school year. All cookies or snacks are welcome.
Soup Ministry – Reach out to Dottie Walker (724-981-6228) if you would like to be involved in this ministry that takes place Sept. – May. Soup and cookies are delivered to our homebound each of these months.
Funeral Dinners - When church members or a family member pass away, the church offers a luncheon time on the day of the funeral. See or call Pat Lorenzo (724-962-2626) if you would like to be part of this team to help the day of in the kitchen or to donate food.
Global Methodist Women – This ladies group gathers the 3rd Tuesday of the month, often at Eat n Park for fellowship and to discuss any needs or events. They host the Good Used Clothing Sale in the spring and fall and generously give to local needs throughout the valley.
Good Used Clothing Sale – happens in the spring and fall. A great way for you to clean out your closets and fill them up again! The ladies can always use assistance, so watch the bulletin and facebook as the times approach.
Men’s Ministry – this is a new ministry, that kicked off the fall of 2025 for the men of HGM. They will meet for fellowship, accountability and to serve as needed. Contact Steve Doren for more information (412-389-6970)
Dinner Theater – If you enjoy acting, dancing, singing watch for auditions late April or early May to be part of this great community event! Reach out to linda doutt (724-699-9360)with any questions.
Sunday Coffee Fellowship – If you would like to assist in setting up or cleaning up on Sunday mornings, contact Dottie Walker
Special Events – lots of special events happen throughout the year, here are a few -
Craft/Vendor Show – This is a Sept event. We need assistance with securing vendors, contacting community businesses for door prizes and arranging silent auction. See Pastor Christine or Tammy Hurton if you would like to get involved.
Harvest Party and Bake Off – This is a November event with a light meal and an apple/pumpkin dessert competition. If you would like to help in set up, preparation of lunch, judging or clean up talk to Pastor Christine.
Decking the Hall – At the end of November we deck out Swanson Hall for the holiday season and events. See Pastor Christine is interested in helping deck the hall!
Live Nativity – In December we help the community celebrate the reason for the season with a live outdoor nativity with cookies and hot cocoa inside. If you would like to get involved see linda doutt or Pastor Christine.
Salvation Army Red Kettle and Angel Tree – each December we take a day to ring the Red Kettle Bell and we get Angel Tree Ornaments so we can buy gifts for under privileged children in the area.
Snowball Challenge –Indoor Cornhole Competition and game day. Reach out to Dottie Walker (724-981-6228) or Diane Edwards Murphy (724-301-6920) for more information or to see how you can get involved! Typically a Jan or Feb event.
Lenten Meals and/or Bible Studies Join us during Lent from Ash Wednesday through Palm Sunday for a time of meals and Bible Study. Dates and times TBA
The Chosen – Sunday evenings, join us for a potluck dinner and a time of watching The Chosen and having some discussion. The Chosen is a wonderful show about the life of Jesus and offers great insight and hope for life.
Ladies Tea (Sat. in May) An afternoon tea for all the ladies, men especially needed to serve at this event.
